What...Woopatang

Well, all has come full circle. The corp I started this game with is now the corp that I am with again; Woopatang.  I have actually been back for several months and pulled some real life friends with me when I joined. Currently we are doing faction warfare and I am still keeping up my carebear activities as well, but definitely having some PVP fun.

What has to be the coolest thing is that many of the Woopatang members are here in Denver and this year a few members flew into town for the week/weekend. We had dinner last Tuesday and I was able to hang out with them Thursday night and took Jonni up to Winter Park for some snowboarding on Friday. If you can do it, gather as a group. It's not only a blast, but helps pull the corp together as a family.

Just a quick update for you few who follow

A Slow New Beginning

It has been some time since I last visited this blog, but I will keep at it until I finally learn to write everyday. Life has been overly busy but I continue to log in play whenever I can. No one logs on to Kindred of Honor anymore and we have been booted out of the alliance which moved to null sec...as renters I think.

I have consolidated my stuff and am hanging out with other friends in Everyshore but the lure of Null Sec and/or Low Sec calls....I think I have been spoiled :)

Looking forward to December updates..fly safe-ish and for the 95 people that have ever viewed this blog, throw me some ideas of where to go next.

EVE has fallen?

Finally getting back in the swing of things. My power of four is complete and my OCD has been satisfied by having "all" my skills to level 4. I wondered what I was doing raising those industry and social skills to 4, but in the long run I am sure it will help.

What is going on with all the blogs about quitting and bitter this and bitter that? I have a feeling for the 75% of people who are like me, EVE is not doomed to fail. If you look at my RL situation, I have a wife, career, 3 kids, 3 dogs and 2 cats...ummm can you say circus. For the 30 minutes to 1 hour that I have, EVE easily fulfills the need to get online, play a game and socialize with friends. IMHO, EVE will survive and CCPs ideas of Dust and WOD are excellent ideas. How many people play 1st person shooters on a console? Not sure, but I assume its a lot. World of Darkness is another MMO I can't see failing. I have played Vampire, now WOD, for over 11 years and I will be first in line to give me hard earned money to CCP for WOD. I say hard because, well, being an architect in the economy is rather hard.

There is my 2 isk..well..maybe just 1 isk.. I am enjoying EVE and even after 2 years I realize I have learned maybe 5% of the game..damn I need to play more.

P.S. Thanks to Voices From the Void, Rixx Javix, EVOGANDA, and Roc for lifting my spirits and motivating me to blog some more..Now if I could just follows Roc's healthy lifestyle :(

The Power of 4

Wow its been awhile and a lot has happened. The Corp that enticed me to 0.0 and helped me learn some of the ropes has disbanded. I was sad to see this happen, but I have an open invitation to join FFW (First Flying Wing) when I am ready. I'm taking a break from null and trying low sec for a bit. I have some real life friends who fly and we have all grouped in a corp called Kindred of Honor. Very casual, which is good for my crazy busy life....ohh yea "The Power of 4".

No, I am not starting a fourth account...or even a third account. I just passed my 1 year anniversary as a capsuleer and have very been very random in my skill training. I started out wanting to fly ships from every race and have accomplished that goal..I'm just not great at any of them. So...I decided that I am going to train all my current skills to 4 and select ones to 5 before moving on to anything new. A move I should have done along time ago.

Heres to flying with a new group of guys...

Where did my corp go?

Remember, when you take a break from EVE, move things out of Null Sec.

I woke up in 1V, which was owned by Primary, and found myself surrounded by red. Red in station, red in local...red everywhere. Apparently my corp/alliance moved :)

Luckily I am still a noob, so I only had to fire sell some things and give away the rest. To get back to pew pewing, my corp moved near Gallante space and I am rather excited. We are based out of a null sec system 7 jumps from high sec with low sec in between. This should give me time to play around in low sec. My eve experience so far has been High Sec for 1 month. Null sec 11 months. I think I was a bit crazy to go to null sec after a month of play, but it was fun.

Trying to get back in the swing of things and am going back to Frigates for a while. Sure I can fly battleships from 3 of the races, but I ain't good at it. I want to start flying what I can fit...at least somewhat fit and flying what I can afford to lose. Looking forward to trying out Tech II frigs in the next month or so.

Fly safe....

Are You There. Yet?

By nature I am lazy. I log onto EVE everyday. Have even started a second account to do some logistic works, but I fail to load iPromethean and write. Non the less, a new year is coming and a new drive to join the EVE blog community is growing.

Things have been going well. I have enjoyed my new home in 0.0 space and have spent time roaming and been in on a few kills. I can see that between the activities in Great Wildlands, high-sec carebearing, low sec roaming, industry, research, pirating, ninja salvaging and Hulk ganking that EVE will keep me busy for year to come.

Happy holidays and fly safe.

Drain Bamage

I helped a friend who just joined our corp move a ship down into null sec space. We flew through about 19 systems of low/null sec and didn't run into anything. Alright I thought, this should be a good night.

We started off his move with some ratting. He in a stabber, me in a Drake. First encounter went well, after we got them aggro'ed on me instead of the stabber. I am amazed at how much damage the drake can take with passive shields. 30 minutes later a corp mates says he is being agressed by a neutral in our system at our station. We disengage the pirate and warp back to the station. Noticing my shields are at 50% I dock up for a quick fix. Undocking, I begin looking around. The Neutral is still there in his Vaga, so I watch him for a bit with the camera on him. Did I notice my crew screaming at me that the Drake was still moving away from the station...nope..

Soon enough I realize I am too far out. 3 more neutrals dropped in and targeted me. Warp scrambed, drones swarming around me, the drake is getting slammed with missiles and shells. The Promethean, my ships name, withstood for a bit but was overwhelmed and popped. Quickly hitting the warp button, I went hurtling toward the nearest stargate.

Yes yes...I'm a noob and admit it.

Word of advice; If your popping out to see whats going on, tell your crew to stop the ship.
